You would never know it from looking at this energetic and
affectionate girl but Miss Teya is seven years young! Having plenty of
spark and enthusiasm for life plus a sweet face definitely lends to
Teya’s youthful air but more importantly this pretty pitty is young at
heart. Playful, loving, cuddly and curious is how her foster dad
describes her and we couldn’t agree more! Teya loves to go for walks
and is interested in everything around her, so much so that she
sometimes bumps into things because she’s too busy swiveling her head
to catch as many smells and sights as she can! So you can say Teya’s a
little bit clumsy, especially when she gets so excited that her whole
body wags with her tail and she trips over her own paws!

Another cute thing about Teya is that she will smile when she knows
she’s getting a treat. If you’re holding a cookie and tell her to sit,
she will take a seat then flash her pearly whites at you before gently
taking the biscuit. Teya prefers to work for rewards and is very
attentive when there are cookies and leashes being offered; she has
her basic obedience down and is still learning to obey other commands
so a firm but fair leader will help Teya along wonderfully

Teya gets along famously her neighbor (black lab) but can
be selective with other dogs at first so slow and proper introductions will
make for better relationships with new friends. Are you looking for a
fun-loving, smart and lively addition to your family? If so, fill out
an application and come meet Teya today

Warm, inviting and full of energy – just like her namesake, Java is a robust blend of dog love! This cow-patched beauty is a bundle of affection and is looking for the right crew to help harness her strong will and zeal!

Like any other pittie pup, Java lives for attention, cuddles and love from her people, and will find any excuse to get close to you! She’ll eagerly accept your inadvertent invitations to jump up on the couch (oh, that’s not what you meant?), and will return your kindness with appreciative licks of thanks. Java has a voracious lust for life and revels in any chance to expel energy outdoors! She’s an adaptive girl who’ll join you on a leisurely stroll or keep up with you on your daily runs. Sure, working out is all well and good, but what Java loves most above all is a good, durable squeaky ball! She will play fetch enthusiastically for as long as you’re willing, but it would be best to invest in a tough rubber ball, otherwise you’ll risk an all-too-brief play session and a sad Java.

While relaxing in her foster home, Java has dabbled in obedience and even makes guest appearances at doggy daycare. Familiar friends are treated to her usual sweet and demure personality, but Java appears to suffer from leash frustration around strange dogs. Her yelps and lunges might seem aggressive in nature but are largely due to a lack of proper leash manners, requiring firm and consistent training to improve her on-leash etiquette. Distracting her with an enticing bouncy ball is a surefire way to redirect her focus to you rather than the handsome dog passing by.

Java has all the makings of a perfect pet and just needs a forever family to push her in the right direction. She loves her people to the max, but is an independent gal who will be happy to sleep the day away while you go to work. Her sensitivity, intelligence and willingness to please all contribute to her trainability and charm. If you’re willing to work with Java to smooth out her kinks and help her flourish into the amazing dog she’s meant to be, she’ll be grateful forever, so fill out an application today!

Thank you to Leah Dube, John Dunbar, and their dog Ace for being Java’s HugABull Angel. Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated on behalf of Java and all of us at HugABull!

Precious Poppy may be all legs, paws and ears now, but this seven month old pup promises to grow into a real stunner! This fair-haired beauty is an energetic and happy-go-lucky gal whose zest for life and love for cuddles makes her the perfect addition to any family!

Poppy absolutely loves company, both of the human and canine kind, so being a part of a family with several two-and-four legged members would be ideal for this affectionate girl. Her foster family hasn’t had the chance to introduce her to small children yet, but they believe that she’ll excel in a home with older kids that understand the needs of a puppy. It will also help if her young friends are willing to share their beds since Poppy is a real snuggler and loves to be coddled! You can carry her in your arms and rub her belly, and just like a baby she’ll fall comfortably asleep! Essentially any opportunity to be in close physical contact with you makes Poppy a happy girl!

Like any puppy, Poppy could use some work on her basic obedience, but she knows “sit” and “shake” and will continue to learn with the motivation of sweet treats! Poppy can be left alone for up to four hours, but does suffer from separation and confinement anxiety and has been known to display destructive behaviours (rearranging your couch cushions, for example), so keeping her busy and distracted is paramount. If you’re home, she’ll be kind enough to let you know when it’s time for her to go out to do her business, and will come right back in when she’s finished. Her leash manners are coming along nicely, but she’ll pull when she sees another dog and will need to work on her introductions. After all, she’s still a pup and doesn’t know the meaning of taking it slow when it comes to meeting a new canine friend!

Described by her foster family as a total gem, Poppy’s sweet, playful and caring personality will make it hard for them to give her up! This one-in-a-million pup is still a typical pittie in that she’s happy to zonk out on the couch or at your feet after playtime is over, and will ever be your loyal and watchful companion! Poppy is going to blossom into a beautiful and loving dog, so if you’d like to make her a part of your family fill out an application today!

“Have couch, will snuggle.” If Hazel came with a tagline, that would probably be it! Like all puppies this lovely girl is a ball of energy but once playtime is over, you can count Hazel to curl up on your chest, press her nose into your neck and softly snore the next few hours away while you lie perfectly still on your sofa, couch, or loveseat, so as not to disturb the dog snoozing on top of you. Don’t worry, we all do it. After all, it’s not hard to fall in love with a sweet young thing like Hazel!

This four-month-old darling is already showing all the signs of becoming the perfect pet. Hazel is fantastic around kids and small furries (including cats!) and is almost impeccable with her crate training. While she’s still putting the finishing touches on her house-training and learning her basic obedience, Hazel has great leash manners and is super well-behaved around other dogs. She’s incredibly affectionate with her canine friends and loves to show her fondness for them by sharing her toys, cleaning their ears and faces, and helpfully holding their leashes in her mouth while walking side by side. Too cute!

Hazel would do very well in a high-energy home with a confident dog who can be her role model during socialization time at the park. Her foster family reports that she is gaining confidence with other pooches and is quite savvy with knowing when to play and when to walk away. This well-balanced girl’s recall is very good–especially considering her young age–and she never strays far from her people, especially if someone in the group is holding a stick. Hazel’s favorite toy in the world is a stick. In fact, if she can’t find one she’ll make her own by “borrowing” from the nearest tree! As you can see, Hazel is one dog who has it all: looks, intelligence, and charm. She’s definitely a keeper!

If you think your family and home are the right fit for pretty Miss Hazel, drop us a line today and fill out an application! Please note: a puppy class is required to complete her adoption.

Whoa, what a personality! One-and-a-half year old Lacey is full of life and can’t wait to take to the trails and go for runs with her best human friends. Lacey is big-boned and tall -70 lbs.- so she has the perfect build for a generally active lifestyle. In fact, this cow-patched sweetheart already enjoys towing her foster dad on a bicycle behind her so challenges like carting or weight-pull may come naturally! She has already mastered the treadmill for those rainy days.

Daily walks are something this energetic youngster looks forward to as they’re always full of exciting sights and smells. Lacey will need an experienced handler who is be patient and consistent while she masters self- control and learns to enjoy strolling at a slower pace. Training with praise as part of a basic obedience class will get Lacey’s attention as she does her best to please her handler; motivation comes readily to this food and people-oriented chowhound! She has learned to love her crate and heads in willingly for a treat or stuffed Kong, before waiting quietly to be released.

Lacey would happily share her home with another dog; she never strays far from her foster brother, and likes to cuddle so closely that she often ends up sitting right on top of him! Lacey does have difficulty meeting new doggie friends and requires a day or two to feel safe around them -then it’s game on! Children of any age would be welcome; Lacey proved an amazing nanny dog to her previous family’s 3 young boys and was “thick as thieves” with the youngest, often discovered snuggling in the dog bed together.

Loveable Lacey may be a big girl but she still thinks she’s a puppy and will sneak into your heart (and lap) if you let her! Full body hugs and enthusiastic kisses are her speciality. She’s looking to join an active family who wants a young, feisty dog to have fun with during the day and snuggle up in front of the TV with at night. Get in touch and find out more about this lively little lady!

Lacey has a HugABull Angel!
Deemed the world’s biggest cuddlebug by her foster family, wonderful Rosie was born to love people, and boy is she good at it! This red and white American Bulldog beauty lives to please and be near her people, so a family that’s looking for a loyal and devoted companion has found their match in this girl.

Everything Rosie does is cute. Despite her size, she’s convinced that she is a lap dog and cuddles in as close to you as she can get! She is a wiggly bundle of love who will stick her face in yours, asking for snuggles and waiting for the okay to climb up next to you. Rosie is great with kids and medium to large sized dogs, but has a high prey drive, so small dogs and cats are not a good match for her. A laid back lifestyle would suit her fine, but she does have a significant amount of energy to burn, so she requires sufficient daily exercise.

Rosie is very food motivated (she loves food almost as much as she loves people), so training sessions are tons of fun for her. She loves to spend time outside going for walks, runs and playing with other dogs. Searching for new smells and sounds on a hike leaves her happy and tired, as does playing in water. Rosie’s not big on playing fetch, but she’ll go through periods of obsession with certain toys, especially stuffed Kongs and marrow bones. She pulls a bit on leash, but she is doing well with her Easy-Walk harness and is completely manageable with an attentive walker.

Rosie suffers from separation/isolation anxiety, but is getting better every day! Her foster family has been working hard to build up her tolerance to being left alone. She can currently only be left alone for 15 minutes at a time, but as her confidence grows so will the length of time she can be alone. Rosie’s currently taking Clomicalm to help deal with her anxiety. She is totally housetrained and LOVES her crate which has been a useful tool in managing her separation anxiety.

Rosie’s love for her people is beyond anything her foster family has ever seen in another dog. Her sweet and snuggly personality is enough to win anyone over, and her focus and trainability will make for a fun and willing companion. If you have the time and patience to work with Rosie, she’ll definitely blossom into a confident and devoted best friend!

Sweet and beautiful Zayda is a young girl in love…with everyone she meets! This active and energetic pup is a dream in the house and in search of new forever friends of the two and four legged kind!

Zayda is full of energy and very eager to please. She constantly looks to her foster family for praise and encouragement while keeping a close eye on everyone to make sure they’re okay. At over a year old, Zayda remains incredibly dog social and would make an easy addition to a multi-dog family. She is currently living with another young female in her Vernon foster home, and they are two peas in a super-cute pod! Zayda is house- and crate trained with no separation anxiety. She quite enjoys having her own private den and will wait patiently in it while you are away during the day or while you prepare her meals. Zayda has even learned to head straight for her bed when the lights go off at night.

As Zayda is still quite rambunctious, older children would suit her best and she prefers a cat-free home -small furries are just too much fun to chase. She did well with livestock though on a recent outing! This spirited pooch is working on polite greetings as she gets excited easily meeting new friends and not every dog appreciates her enthusiasm. She has basic obedience skills and knows some commands, but learning in a group setting with her new family will help to develop her focus and control her puppy excitement. She is very gentle and reacts better to a calm voice rather than stern discipline, so a patient and loving handler will work wonders for this smart girl.

Unfortunately Zayda is the poster child for irresponsible breeding and is showing early signs of hereditary hip dysplasia. She is currently on a glucosamine supplement to protect her joints and continues to live life to the fullest! We are grateful to Brad of Trail Waggers for including Zayda on his amazing hikes (and for the gorgeous photos!), and Shelly for the opportunity to try weight pull! Peek in on Zayda pulling with Pooch Partners!

Zayda is full of love and just wants everyone around her to be happy. If you have a big heart with room for Zayda, give her a chance to show you how wonderful she is!

Zayda has a HugABull Angel! She is sponsored by Erin Wells on behalf of her cute canine companions Karma and Arcani.

Thank you Erin, Karma and Arcani!

If little monster Moby doesn’t charm you with his wiggles and adorable face, those ears will certainly do the trick! This petite young stud packs a lot of puppy fun in his slight 35lbs and is looking for an active family to live out his rambunctious ways with.

Moby is a bundle of youth and vigour, so he would be best suited to an active home that can provide him with adequate exercise. His foster family takes him on daily runs which seem to tucker him out for at least a few hours of quality nap time, and oh boy does he love to snuggle! In fact, he’ll use those adorable radar ears to charm his way onto the sofa and across your chest and neck! Moby does really well with other dogs, so he would make a great second to a family with an existing four legged pal. He hasn’t met with any cats, but his foster family believes he could be trained to get along with them perfectly well. He’s still in the finger nibbling stage, so young children might not be a great fit at this time.

Moby really loves his people so being left alone isn’t his favourite. He can be left home alone for up to six hours but will occasionally entertain himself with your personal belongings (keep your makeup out of reach, for example). He’s never chewed on shoes, but will drag them into the living room, which, you have to admit, is kind of cute. Moby is comfortable sleeping in his crate, but has some anxiety about being locked up, so they’re still working on building his confidence. Moby is basically housetrained, but he’s been known to have an accident if he doesn’t get the chance to go before you leave. He’s very good at telling you when it’s time to go, though.

When he’s not out jogging, Moby loves a good walk with his Easy Walk harness or an off-leash romp. He never strays and will walk closely behind his foster mom. Moby is very food motivated and loves treats, so continuing with his positive reinforcement and clicker training will be the ticket to obedience success!

Moby is a wonderful dog whose intelligence and sweet disposition are a perfect match for those hilarious ears! Once some of the exuberant puppy energy leaves him as he matures, Moby will certainly develop into a fantastic family pet and best friend. If you’d like to be the one to journey with him through puppy adolescence and beyond, contact HugABull today!

He may have the sleek physique of a runner, but Oakley was made for more than action, he was born

to have fun! His youthful antics and official cuddlebug status will win the hearts of many, but only one

family will be this puppy’s perfect forever home!

Oakley is an active young buck, so he would do best in a home looking to spend some quality time

outdoors having fun! This doesn’t mean he won’t turn in for a good snuggle, oh no, this boy can be a

real couch potato! But when it comes to having a good time, Oakley likes to take the party outside! His

favourite activities include walking, running, wrestling, and chewing and chasing toys (he hasn’t quite

gotten the hang of returning the toys just yet).

Oakley is mostly housetrained, but has the occasional accident. He can be left alone in his crate for up

to four hours accompanied by his chew toys, but can also be trusted out of the crate if provided with

enough chew-friendly distractions to keep him away from furniture. The good news is he’d much rather

chew on a toy than your walls. He currently shares his foster home with some doggie siblings, and his

foster family suspects he might become anxious if left completely alone.

Just like any other puppy, Oakley could use some work on his basic obedience (he currently knows “sit”

and “wait”) but has great leash manners. He’ll need to practice his intro manners when meeting other

dogs, but with food to motivate him and a patient handler Oakley will mature into a bright and well

behaved boy. Otherwise he is great with other dogs and is slowly learning through trial and error that

chasing cats is not such a good idea. Oakley would do well in a house with other dogs, a confident cat, or

older children since his bum wiggles could easily knock a small child down.

Oakley is a happy little boy who, with the right guidance and family, will make someone very happy! If

you’re that someone, fill out an application today to welcome this dog in to your life.
