Napolean

While HugABull normally deals strictly with bullies, when a small rural shelter called and asked us to help place this boy, we couldn't say no. Cane Corsos are magnificent dogs, but require an experienced owner capable of handling a large, sensitive, powerful animal bred to be protective of home and family, and the shelter he was at simply didn't have the resources to place Napoleon safely. Napoleon was beautiful to say the least, and his habit of placing his gigantic, squishy, drooly face in our laps and staring up at us with sad eyes won us over completely. He was about a year old, completely untrained, not housebroken, and had obviously never been inside of a house. We got Napoleon into a foster home experienced with mastiffs and other guardian breeds, where he was able to learn some basic obedience and manners, including housebreaking, as well as be socialized to all the things he'd be likely to encounter on a daily basis. After a few weeks in his foster home, Napoleon was ready for adoption. Napoleon now lives on a ranch in the Interior with a semi-retired couple who have mastiff experience. He has the run of the house and property, and loves following his owners around the farm during the daily chores, and keeping the couch warm at night.
