Rocky

This
dog was extra-special to a lot of our members, and with good reason
- Rocky was one of the most gushingly affectionate, enthusiastic,
dogs we'd ever met, who very narrowly escaped death in a shelter.
When we initially were called about Rocky by a shelter volunteer,
we had to turn him down, as we had no foster spots available.
When we had a spot open up, we called them, just in the nick of
time, as he was scheduled to be euthanized that very day. Why?
The shelter was simply out of room, and Rocky was considered "less
adoptable" due to his breed and his being in poor health. Sadly,
this is common in shelters everywhere, and too often a foster
home doesn't come available and good dogs are put to sleep, simply
because there are no homes available. For this reason alone, we
urge you to please spay or neuter your pets.
When
Rocky came into our program, he was in poor health and clearly
suffering from food allergies, but with medical attention, good
food, and lots of TLC, Rocky thrived in his foster home, and was
soon ready for adoption.
It
took quite a while for Rocky to find his forever home, but boy
was it worth the wait. We couldn't be happier with his new family,
and they couldn't be happier with him. In their most recent update,
they wrote:
"I
cannot begin to tell you how pleased we are to have Rocky as
a part of our family. He has quickly become the center of our
universe and we love him dearly. It is hard to believe such
a beautiful soul was without a family for so long. To say that
we are completely smitten by Rocky is a vast understatement.
We
are completely blown away regarding what a quick study Rocky
is and get him to showcase his talents every chance we get.
Rocky walks very nicely on a lead, sits, shakes a paw, lies
down, rolls over and speaks. He is amazing and truly a great
ambassador for his breed.
We
are so grateful to you and the HugABull organization for saving
Rocky and giving him a chance to find a forever family. You
truly do good work!!! "
