Sadie

Sadie,
formerly Ladybug, has a story sure to make even skeptics consider
the possibility of fate. Sadie was rescued from an abusive situation
when she was only 5 months old, and became the much-loved pet
of her previous family. Nearly four years later, they were devastated
when circumstances forced them to change residences, and they
had to begin searching for a new home for Sadie. A mutual friend
of both the family and one of HugABull's Co-Directors soon asked
us for assistance. Upon meeting Sadie and her lovely family, and
seeing how gentle she was with their infant children, we were
moved to help. Initially, our plan was to try and help the family
find accommodations where they could keep Sadie, but as moving
day drew nearer, luck was running short. Then, through a sad yet
timely coincidence, a relative of HugABull's other Co-Director
contacted HugABull, saying she'd unexpectedly lost her much-loved
senior Pit Bull "Bonnie" to cancer, and that she was
looking for a new dog, as the home was too empty without a bully
in it. The new dog needed to be housebroken, have basic obedience,
and be good with children, cats, and other dogs - a tall order
to fill. As luck would have it, Sadie was a perfect match, and
her new "mom" confesses she sometimes feels as though
Bonnie sent Sadie to her family. Sadie is doing marvelously in
her new home, and has helped the family's two young children deal
with the loss of Bonnie, the dog who'd been there since their
births, who they'd held onto as they took their first steps, and
who'd been their companion in all things as they explored the
wonders of early childhood. While extended family and friends
were initially horrified to learn the young family had acquired
another Pit Bull, upon meeting Sadie they have learned that Bonnie's
lovely temperament was not an anomaly, as they had originally
believed, but rather a tribute to the true nature of Pit Bulls.
Keep an eye on our site - Sadie's family plans to become more
