We value the relationships we’ve built with shelters across BC. Many shelters call us when a great pit bull is sitting in their system, knowing that through our foster care program, our network and our screening procedures, HugABull is the way to ensure they find a loving and responsible home.

When we cannot pull a pit bull into our program, we can provide support to shelters so they can provide the best possible outcome for that dog:

• Providing breed information and advice to shelter staff
• Assisting with temperament testing
• Interpreting and advising on behaviour, prey drive, and dog-to-dog aggression
• Advising on management and training techniques for shelter staff and potential adopters
• Courtesy posts on our website, increasing visibility
• Assistance with screening applicants, including home checks
